The aim of this project is to assist the housewives in Kota Bahagia, Muadzam Shah, Pahang to commercialize their waste paper based-handicraft products.

Since the demand of their product is increasing due to limited supply, Enactus UNITEN Muadzam Shah developed a program to educate the housewives on how to recruit and maintain human capital, establish their marketing channel and improve their product's value chain.

The chosen people in need are families in Kota Bahagia with low household income per month of RM 570 which is below the national poverty line income, housewives with exceptional skills in making eco-friendly handicrafts products, and those who possess limited knowledge on how to market their products.

The project is economically lucrative due to low capital invenstment, high ratio of value addition and increasing demand from consumers for eco-friendly products.

Enactus UNITEN Muadzam Shah recruited 7 housewives as a part of of business expansion program and provided them the economic opportunities. They also conducted a workshop on strategic business management and financial skills and case study analysis to inculcate creative and critical thinking as well as providing reading materials for better exposure on the handicraft industry.

This project supports the greener environment initiative by encouraging the 3r's Concept : Reuse, Reduce & Recycle by using approximately 1 tonne of paper, saving 15 trees, 6,953 gallons of water and 463 gallons of oil and empowered the community surrounding to reuse and supports the green initiative.

The 7 housewives generated business income of RM 6,000 per month, a 10 fold increment from prior year and the products demand increased up to an average of 2,250 units per month. This encouraged proactive participating from women to improve the community's socio-economic activities and community development. It also boost the women's confidence level by enganging a more proactive social activity and development.
