The Appointment of Enactus Malaysia Royal Patron
Y.A.M. Tunku Ali Redhauddin Ibni Tuanku Muhriz, 36, is the eldest son of D.Y.M.M. Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan and D.Y.M.M. Tuanku Aishah Rohani, the Tunku Ampuan Besar Negeri Sembilan. He completed his early education in Malaysia before furthering his studies in the United Kingdom - first at Marlborough College the University of Cambridge, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History and Social and Political Sciences in 1998.
Upon graduation, he joined McKinsey & Company as a management consultant. Based in their London and Kuala Lumpur offices, he worked on projects in the United States, Europe and Asia. In 2004, he left to join the Investment Division at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, the strategic investment arm if the Government of Malaysia. There, he worked on initiatives such as the Government Linked Companies (GLC) Transformation Programme as well as leading investment in Financial Services, Leisure & Tourism and the Creative Industries, including projects such as Legoland Malaysia, Kidzania Kuala Lumpur and Iskandar Malaysia Studios.
He left Khazanah in 2010 to attend the John F Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, graduating in 2011 as an Edward S Mason Fellow with a Master in Public Administration. He continues to sit on the boards of several Khazanah subsidiaries, including Asia Capital Reinsurance Malaysia, Themed Attraction and Resorts, Destination Resorts and Hotels and Iskandar Malaysia Studios. He also recently joined the Board of Bumi Armada Berhad as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
In addition to his corporate appointments, Y.A.M. Tunku Ali is involved in several educational and non-profit initiatives. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustee of the Munarah Foundation, a Founding Trustee of Teach for Malaysia (TFM), and a Governor of Marlborough College Malaysia. In addition, he is Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, and a Royal Fellow at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia's Yunus Centre for advancement of Social Business. In 2013, the World Economic Forum (WEF) recognized Y.A.M. Tunku Ali as a member of its Young Global Leaders (YGL) Class of 2013.
Y.A.M. Tunku Ali is the Tunku Besar Seri Menanti of the State of Negeri Sembilan, and is also an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army of Malaysia.
