UMT : Aqua - D

The objective of this project is to assist fishermen to increase their income during monsoon season and to get them participated in improvised Aqua - D system that is relevant to market needs.

The earlier Aqua - D project shows a significant success. Based on this, Enactus UMT expanded the project to a new community that needed the students help. The young adults of Kg Teluk Ketapang were involved in this year's project. They carried out the same method with an improvised system.

They improved the income of the village people as well as educated them with new skills and knowledge.

The Enactus UMT students applied effective and innovative invented by their university to address the people in need. Environmental factor has been taken in to consideration by applying eco - friendly system that does not use chemical fertilizers.

Empowered the community to produce their own resources, so that they can generate their own income simultaneously increase their earning and obtained a comfortable life. Encourage the community to run and sustain the project with aquaculture knowledge and plant cultivation knowledge. UMT also educated the community to think creatively, using the innovative system and expand their existing project.

Impact

This project impacted 2 people directly and 408 people indirectly. They utilized 4 fish tank and 18 vegetables compartment which gives a good RM 800 earnings to the fishermen.
